HVAC WORKERS’ COMP
RATE DECREASES!
Great News!!! FRACCA has just received notice
from NCCI that the rate for Workers’ Compensation
classification Code 5537 (HVAC) is now
$9.46. Looks like having a separate code for
HVAC, instead of being grouped with other industries,
is paying off. This is almost a 10% decrease!
The new rate will take effect January 1, 2007.
FRACCA worked hard at keeping the initial rate
for the new single classification. It was just a year
ago that NCCI had proposed a first time rate of
more than $15.36. With input from FRACCA
members and industry “friends”, NCCI reconsidered
the rate and set it for $10.40. That set the
stage for the newest decrease down to $9.46.
Contractor members in all of the five FRACCA affiliated
chapters are automatically members of the
state organization, Florida Refrigeration and Air
Conditioning Contractors Association (FRACCA).
The collective voice of our members along with
that of our lobbyist Cam Fentriss, FRACCA has
become an agent for positive change in our industry
and allows our members to keep more money
where it belongs - in their own corporate pockets.
